Job Description:

The selected candidate will perform engineering support and technical design duties for civil and structural projects using BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D modeling tools. The role involves preparing structural and fabrication models and drawings for metal components and assemblies, ensuring accuracy and coordination among disciplines. This position is ideal for candidates looking to develop expertise in BIM, 3D modeling, and metal fabrication in a collaborative project environment.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D BIM models for construction projects.
  • Prepare fabrication and construction drawings for metal parts and assemblies.
  • Conduct field measurements and prepare sketches or reports to assist project documentation.
  • Assist in structural analyses and review of material specifications under general guidance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure design consistency and manufacturability.
  • Assist in cost estimation and material quantification using BIM data.
  • Support coordination between design and production teams in metal fabrication projects.
  • Provide support for CNC or automated metal fabrication processes using sheet and tube metal programming software.
  • Utilize 3D design tools such as SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent to assist in design integration.
  • Facilitate integration of information and design requirements across multidisciplinary teams and BIM platforms.
  • Ensure interoperability and quality control between different modeling and documentation platforms.
  • (Note: The employee may receive additional in-house training related to CNC programming and 3D design tools as part of normal company operations.)
